Four Districts Day Care Centre
Claim this listingThe Four Districts Day Care Centre was established in 1981 by a group of interested people in the community in consultation with the Eastern Health Board for the purpose of providing a facility where the senior citizens of Saggart, Rathcoole, Newcastle and Brittas can meet socially in pleasant surroundings and enjoy meeting old friends and making new ones.
The premises became vacant on the death of Dr Josephine Clarke who had been the dispensary doctor in Rathcoole from 1931.
These premises, attached to the old dispensary, were the residence of the dispensary doctor since around 1888.
Dr. Clarke had retired in the late 1960s but for thirty years had been a much loved doctor and friend to the community of Rathcoole and surrounds.
