The Dublin Postal Sports & Social Club was founded in 1971 by the late Mr Andy Moore, Superintendent II Parcel Office.

His aim was to provide sports and recreational activities for all employees of An Post.

With this in mind the committee set about looking for a premises for their club and in 1977 four committee members Andy Moore, Sean McLoughlin, Gerry Thompson and Tadgh Sullivan put their own homes up as collateral to ensure securing a bank loan for 60,000 and the dream of the Dublin Postal Sports & Social Club became a reality.

With this money they purchased 16 acres of recreational land at the foot of the Dublin Mountains on Kiltipper Road in Tallaght.

There was already a building on site which was developed into a clubhouse and over the next couple of years a caretakers house was built and an 18 hole pitch and putt course was developed which was complemented by two soccer pitches and one GAA pitch.

In 1986 new dressing rooms were built to cater for the vast amount of sporting activities taking place.
