Do you have difficulty travelling to the Optician?

If so, Eyes on the Road can come to you.

    Who are we?

Eyes on the Road was set up by Kolette Enright, FAOI Optometrist in 2005, is managed by Les Ford and based in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.

    What do we do?

Eyes on the Road provide sight testing and supply of spectacles to those unable to travel to the optician. We visit people in nursing homes, day care centres, hospitals, or their own homes if they have difficulty getting to the Opticians themselves.

What are the objectives of Eyes on the Road?
    • Optimising vision and quality of life.
    • Preserving sight for as long as possible.
    • Help reduce incidence of accidents and falls due to poor vision.
    • Maintain independence.

What type of eye test is provided?

A full and comprehensive examination is provided by Kolette Enright, Optician who has over 20 years experience. The examination includes testing for cataracts, glaucoma and other related problems.

Single vision, bifocal or varifocal spectacles are available with a choice of a wide range of frames. When the spectacles are ready, we will call back to the patient to fit them and make sure they are comfortable.

    What does it cost?

This service is provided free of charge to medical card holders and those in receipt of a state pension.

    How to find us?
