SeniorCare Forum Standards of Conduct

Welcome to the SeniorCare Forum. Our vision is to help you to connect with each other and industry professionals to find answers to questions on many aspects of senior care, support and information in Ireland. Get involved and help us help you.

Every Community must have rules to function effectively; by participating in our Forum, you agree to the following Community Standards of Conduct. By visiting the SeniorCare Forum, you are agreeing to uphold the Standards of Conduct and abide by our rules. We can not assume responsibility for content posted to the site by other members and visitors (although we will make efforts to remove inappropriate materials at our discretion). If you break the rules, you may be banned from community activities.

What Makes a Good Forum Member?

All participants agree to:

  • Treat all community members with respect;
  • Not post your personal information or the personal information of others. However, you are encouraged to include a "signature" file at the end of each of your message board posts;
  • Never rely solely on forum posts when make medical, financial or legal decisions;
  • Use good judgement and consider that financial, legal and medical decisions that work for one person may not work for everyone else;
  • Refrain from posting commercial advertisements, spam and unrelated or irrelevant information;
  • Completely refrain from profanity;
  • Not post copyrighted material unless you have explicit permission to do so;
  • Share your experiences freely; and
  • Help where you have the experience or ability.

Considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that while we actively monitor the contents of posted message, we are not responsible for any messages posted by registered and unregistered users. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of SeniorCare or any entity associated with it.

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email to info@seniorcare.ie. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. Just because your post has been removed does not mean that it was inappropriate – from time to time, we archive older discussion threads or clean the forum up to make it work faster.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by SeniorCare.

Although SeniorCare cannot review the messages posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless SeniorCare, the makers of the bulletin board software, and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

SeniorCare also reserves the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) at the request of law enforcement authorities in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this forum.
