We first heard about this website on Twitter and logged on to have a look.
Are your folks missing out because they're not online?
Have you ever tried to help?
We know how difficult it can be!
Google has teamed up with Age Action to bring you this free and easy to use website, which helps you the teacher, to pass on Internet skills to an older person in your life.
We have looked through
some of the courses and we think it's an excellent resource. It's a clean design, easy to navigate and there is a 'How To' section to explain how best to approach each course. There are beginners courses on:
- Using the Computer
- Introduction the Internet
- Email
When you have mastered these, you can move on the Improver's courses:
- Video, TV, and Radio
- Shopping Online
- Internet Security
- Travel
- Online Video Calls
- Social Networking
Here is a screenshot from their course on Search Engines:
You can also download the course notes to study in your own time and sign up for a
Custom Course.
We would highly recommend the site for anyone trying to get to grips with the internet, of any age, not just seniors.
